  Dementia Care
The course prompts you to think about whether supporting them with informed choices on their level of understanding would help to positively enable them to make everyday decisions that they otherwise struggle with, rather than simply 'take over' and do it for them. Taking over may cause the person to lose confidence, resulting in them coping less well.

Provided by Essex Chambers Training. The course explains how Dementia can be a distressing condition, particularly as a person's abilities deteriorate. Not only can this cause embarrassment for the person with dementia but it can cause upset and frustration and even embarrassment for their family, friends and carers. This can result in having further emotional impact on the person with dementia. Therefore it is important for others to have support in developing their own coping strategies.
